Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the commonest form of arthritis. It is often described as “wear and tear” in the joint. It can cause pain and stiffness in joints, and occasionally swelling or deformity. It is not to be confused with osteoporosis which is a completely different condition where there is thinning of the bones. (There is a separate information page on Osteoporosis)
